Instructions:

For the cheeseburger with caramelized onions, first mix all ingredients for the beef patty in a bowl until the mixture begins to combine. Press the mixture into a ring of the same diameter as the burger buns. Fry loaves (patties) in a skillet with a little olive oil on both sides for about 2 minutes. Top each with 1-2 slices of cheddar and bake in the oven with the gratin function until the cheese is melted.

For the caramelized onions, melt the butter in a pan, sauté the onions in it, sprinkle with sugar and caramelize. Deglaze with a little balsamic vinegar and then set aside.

For the BBQ sauce, peel the onion, garlic and ginger and blend in a food processor with the chili pepper to a fine paste. Sauté in a saucepan with the spices, herbs and sugar in a little olive oil for 5 minutes, then deglaze with the orange and lemon juice and allow to reduce slightly. Add the ketchup, mustard, Worcester sauce and paprika powder and simmer over low heat for about 30 minutes. Then strain the sauce through a sieve and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Fry the breakfast bacon slices in a pan without fat until crispy.

Cut burger buns in half horizontally and toast in a pan without fat.

Arrange beef patty with remaining ingredients between burger buns and serve cheeseburger with caramelized onions.

Preparation Tip:

The mince for the cheeseburger with caramelized onions can also be prepared on the grill.
