For the pear kiwi jam, cut the peeled and cored pears into small pieces. Cut the peeled kiwis into small pieces as well.
Place the fruit in a saucepan with the apple and lemon juice and bring to a boil. Boil for 4 minutes until bubbling and do the jelly test. To do this, drip some of the jam onto a cold plate. If it sets, the jam is ready. If not, let the mixture cook a little longer.
Pour the pear-kiwi jam into prepared twist-off glasses. Drizzle a little alcohol over the top, light and seal immediately. Place on a tea towel with the lid down and let cool.
Preparation Tip:
This recipe for pear-kiwi jam makes a delicious spread. If you do not want to have small pieces in the jam, then strain the finely chopped fruit with a hand blender.
